Corporate Portraiture

During my time at GoPro, one of my favorite projects was photographing the executive team. The results were so strong that even one shot became Nick Woodman's Wikipedia photo. Great portraits are timeless and will always show you in your best light. Photographing busy executives is always a fun challenge. I enjoy the pressure of capturing subjects who don't have much time to give you. There is no room for error. How do we it? Lots of experience and lots of preparation. Proper pre-production is key to maximizing every moment these power-players can give you. They typically spend more time with the groomer getting ready then being on-set. Before they know it, the photoshoot is over and they are on to their next meeting. We can even capture numerous lighting setups in the less than 5 minutes we are typically given for on-set time. This project only needed one lighting setup but many subjects. We shot it over two days in two different locations and used the same lighting setup to keep the results consistent. Many of our corporate portrait-shoots are added-on to other marketing or HR projects, as we can make portrait-setups in any location.
