Drone Photography and Video in NYC
TBDD and Sam Cornwall Studio provide full-service drone work in New York City for photography and video. NYC is a tough place to fly a drone, but for many projects it is a must-have. We do all of the paperwork, permit applications and carry the required insurance to get your project an NYPD Drone Permit. We also secure the necessary FAA authorizations for any location that requires it, as much of NYC does. We are an approved operator with good standing in the NYPD drone system, which means we can apply for permits up to 14 days prior to the date. Un-approved operators must apply 30 days prior to the date.

For this location on busy Myrtle Ave, across the street from a park, we decided the best way to get an NYPD drone permit was with the smallest drone we operate. This allowed us to use our FAA Waivers 107.39 (Fly over Non-Participants) and 107.145 (Fly Over Moving Vehicles) to satisfy any concerns NYPD could have during the application process. These waivers allow us the flexibility to fly anywhere in NYC safely and legally. This flexibility unlocks all the creative options. Unlimited drone angles allow us to put the camera wherever we need it to be, getting unique angles with treetops in the foreground and placing the building in the greater context with downtown Brooklyn in the background.
