During our time in Los Angeles, my wife and I had the chance to live in a beautiful, old Spanish-style apartment complex in the historic Whitley Heights neighborhood of Hollywood. It was a funny apartment with rich history. It was built by one of the film studios in the 1920s to house visiting actors and located across the street from Cecile B Demile's first studio, just a modest barn that somehow dodged the wrecking ball. It is now the Hollywood Heritage Museum. We amassed a large plant collection during our life in LA. With large windows and lots of daylight, our collection only grew in this Hollywood apartment. It was really hard to part with all of our plants as they enriched lives for years. They become like pets once they have lived with you long enough. We couldn't bring any of them with us back to NYC. But, we found good homes for them all. This little project was to memorialize them for us before we gifted them off.
